- Head to Chester then take A55 direction North Wales.
- Exit onto A494 towards Mold. Continue on A494 towards Ruthin.
- Pass through Loggerheads & Llanferres and the road climbs to Clwyd Gate
- Pass the hotel on the right and take care down a long descent
- After 2 miles take right turn B5429 direction Llandyrnog.
- After 2.25 miles there is a sign on right for 'Llanychan'
- Ty Derw is now 250 yards on the right (Through 2 stone gate posts)

- Take A55 towards Chester.
- Exit A525 at St. Asaph.
- Stay on A525 to Trefnant; at the traffic lights turn left towards Bodfari.
- Join A541 and after 0.50 mile turn right towards Llandyrnog.
- Go through Llandyrnog and Ty Derw is on the left 2 miles after the village.

- Take A494 towards Ruthin.
- Enter Ruthin and at Texaco Garage turn left onto A525 towards Denbigh.
- Past Esso Petrol station on left and go straight through roundabout.
- Half a mile after roundabout enter Rhewl.
- Turn immediately right and then take 2nd left towards Llandyrnog.
- After 1 mile cross over river (hump back bridge).
- Turn left 250 yards later at T junction; Ty Derw is 250 yards on right
